    Hi there,
(Sorry to hear about the crappy Don Corleone experience) We are getting ready to close Cotton Tree Lodge for the season – before the rainy season really hits the Toledo District.
Have you seen or heard anything about this article:
NEW FERRY SERVICE BETWEEN TAMPA AND MEXICO PLANNED A cruise line executive has announced plans to start an auto and pedestrian ferry between Tampa and Mexico beginning in early 2012. Bruce Nierenberg, a founder of now-defunct Premier Cruise Lines, says his company, United Caribbean Lines, will operate a large, European-style ferry ship between Tampa and an unnamed port in the Yucatan, possibly Mahahual, twice weekly beginning as soon as January or February 2012. The ferry will carry several hundred vehicles and more than 1,000 passengers on the 30-hour trip. For a short time in 2002-2003, a Canadian-owned ferry, Yucatan Express, operated between Tampa and Cancun and then Merida, before discontinuing service in early 2003. The Yucatan Express was plagued by problems at Mexican ports and also by relatively low numbers of people using the service. Premier for a time was the official cruise line of Walt Disney World. It went out of business in 2000. Nierenberg also served in executive positions at several cruise lines before becoming a consultant and then a founder of United Caribbean Lines. United Caribbean is also looking at service between Florida and Cuba. (May 23, 2011)
A local friend sent this to me, but can’t recall where he got it. Have you seen it? Have you heard anything?
BTW, Brandie and I are moving into Punta Gorda. We are opening the “Player’s Club” on Middle Main Street.
