Soggy Weather in Belize

Well, Matthew passed through Corozal without much trouble but he did leave a soggy path behind.  Below are a few pictures I took today around town – another storm is coming through over the next few days so I don’t see any sunny days in my Belize trip left.  Oh well, it has been a wonderful trip back nonetheless.

My plan today was to be out on a boat – Capt. J’s skiff to be exact and we had great intentions.  The bay was beautifully calm too, but after we all piled in the skiff on our way over to Cerros Beach Resort for a drink and snack, the boat didn’t want to go more than a hundred yards.  Something was clearly wrong with the engine.  Capt. J had worked on it all afternoon yesterday so he was extremely disappointed.  He turned it around and we headed back to the dock.  So my next trip to Belize will have to be a little more eventful.  Tomorrow is still up in the air – we were going to go cave tubing but with thunderstorms and showers in the forecast we’ve decided to pass on that adventure as well.  We are still hoping to spend the night at an organic retreat property in Cayo tomorrow night and then it’s off to the Belize International Airport for me Thursday late afternoon.
