March 28th: CaveTubing.com tour operator alleges harassment of guides and guests due to his position against Carnival Cruise Line
There has been heated debate on the subject of Carnival Cruise Lines over the past few months and now the owner of CaveTubing.com, Yhonny Rosado, says his company guides and their guests are being harassed due to his strong position against Carnival Cruise Lines. He calls on the Belize Tourism Board (BTB) to answer for this harassment.
March 28th: Prime Minister Dean Barrow wraps up the budget debates
PM Dean Barrow finished his speech during last week’s budget debate with harsh words about the opposition.
March 28th: Prime Minister Dean Barrow comments on the scandalous Facebook picture
PM Dean Barrow was asked to comment on the racy Facebook picture which was posted on the front page of the Guardian newspaper of Gina Tillet, the President of the Cayo Women’s Group of the People’s United Party. Many women’s groups along with the PM’s wife have spoken out against the Guardian.
March 30th: UDP forces Cardona’s resignation
After UDP Orange Walk East Area Representative Marcel Cardona let his strong opinion be heard in the House last week, his party was not thrilled. UDP Party Chairman Patrick Faber sends Cardona a letter that informed him he would “constructively resign.”

March 30th: Update on the MegaBingo Scandal
A press release was sent out by JD Financials Belize Limited – operators of Mega Bingo on the 30th. This is an update from last week’s story involving scandal at the MegaBingo.
March 31st: Women in Politics
The National Women’s Commission is sponsoring the Women in Politics programs. The goals of the program are to support and educate women about the business of politics. Some of the women in the program talk about their opinion of this program.
March 31st: BTL vs. Smart Case Dismissed
A dispute between Smart and BTL (both telecommunications companies) was dismissed in court this week. This dispute started late 2009 and now Smart is just left with the bill.
