Belize September Celebrations – week three

St. George’s Caye day was the holiday celebrated in Belize last night and most likely through the rest of the weekend.  The celebrations started in Belize at the beginning of this month but September 10th marked the first actual holiday and the fireworks starting at midnight was the call to all to start the weekend off.  All over Belize parties are being held in celebration of the British fighting off the Spaniards in a final battle for St. George’s Caye in 1798.
